About Vanessa

My name is Vanessa Talbott and I am a licensed early intervention speech-language pathologist in Northern Virginia. My primary experience is both conducting speech and language assessments and providing treatment to families and their children.

I am passionate about finding ways to help promote communication skills in the early intervention population and sharing strategies through a parent coaching model to empower parents to maximize their child’s potential. I believe in a holistic approach to building communication skills based on how vocabulary develops that incorporates a dashboard of choices including but not limited to sign language, movement, music, picture supports and imitation strategies. My approach is built on a review of evidenced based practice and most importantly is fun and engaging which is how children learn (adults too!).

In addition to speech and language services, I have over 25 years of combined experience as a board certified music therapist, early childhood music and movement educator, and infant massage educator sharing music and movement with families and their children ages birth to 5 in a variety of group settings including community centers, daycares and preschools.

Personal interests

In my free time, I enjoy taking walks with my husband and two adult daughters, puzzling and taking continuing education courses.
